Complimentary Student Tickets and Discounted Family Tickets
We work closely with leading Clark County school districts and educators to offer hundreds of complimentary tickets for Clark County school districts, Title 1 schools, and other students who indicate they have financial constraints.
We also offer 50% off tickets for family members accompanying students.
VSO Brass, Winds, Strings Ensemble Performances
We provide brass, winds, and strings ensemble performances in Vancouver-area schools, including sponsored “Meet the Brass Family” performances from the Columbia River Brass Quintet.
Student Outreach Concerts
We perform annual symphonic concerts for area elementary and middle school students at Skyview Concert Hall. Each concert includes performances by the entire VSO orchestra under the baton of Maestro Salvador Brotons, an instrument demonstration, and a Q&A session which serve as an introduction to symphonic music and the various instruments of the orchestra.
Maestro In the Schools
Longtime Music Director and Conductor Salvador Brotons visits Vancouver/Portland Metro area band and orchestra classrooms to work with students.
Masterclasses
We provide free masterclasses from world-class musicians.
Our most recent masterclass featured violin virtuoso Philippe Quint. This masterclass was a partnership between Beacock Music and Portland State University.
VSO Education Resources
We have a library of blogs and podcasts that share the history and background of composers and their works and highlight guest artists, VSO musicians, and conductors. We also produce short video interviews with musicians for social media.
