VSO at VAMF 2024

The Vancouver Symphony Orchestra USA will perform at the Vancouver USA Arts and Music Festival scheduled from August 2-4, 2024. GRAMMYⓇ Award-winning cellist Zuill Bailey, 2001 Van Cliburn Gold Medalist Olga Kern, soprano Cecilia Violetta López, and tenor Ben Gulley will perform with the orchestra under Maestro Salvador Brotons and Maestro Gerard Schwarz. Presented by the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra USA and the City of Vancouver, the Vancouver USA Arts & Music Festival is a celebration of culture, community, and the unbridled joy of experiencing the arts together. The Vancouver Symphony Orchestra closes the 2024 Vancouver Arts & Music Festival with A Tribute to Bernstein on Sunday August 4th at 3pm. Maestro Gerard Schwarz conducts the stunning program featuring music from Candide, Westside Story, and On The Town, plus Mahler’s Symphony No. 2.

During intermission, All Classical Radio President & CEO Suzanne Nance will interview Maestro Schwarz, sharing a behind the scenes look at Schwarz’s approach to conducting Bernstein, informed by his personal relationship with the legendary composer and conductor.
